Introducing Our New Solid Wood Dining Table

Introducing Our New Solid Wood Dining Table

Posted by Johnny Pastos on

We've just released our newest table design! It's something we've been thinking about for the last few years, and it's the newest table in our Trapezi collection. Let me explain...

You know the rustic farmhouse tables that are no longer charity shop or eBay bargains (because they're now all on high-end online second hand furniture websites)? Well, we became obsessed with thinking about what they were like when they were first made over 100 years ago. Straight from the furniture maker, smell of freshly worked pine ready to service a busy kitchen. We wanted to make that. A piece of furniture that is going to take the knocks and scrapes that everyday life in a busy home encounters.

We can't think of anything better than imagining a Pastos & Co Trapezi table, dented, knocked, scraped, felt-tip pen marks from the five-year-old mini you in 30 years time, washing the table down, letting it air dry, ready to be recoated with a fresh finish

A friend who's eldest daughter has left home for university, was telling me about how when she had just learned to write, became obsessed with signing her name on everything she could. To this day they are still finding items of furniture in the family home that feature a previously undiscovered small and distinct monogram thanks to a mischievous mind, small hands and a wax crayon.

At Pastos & Co, we love these kinds of stories. We are furniture makers, creatives, builders who want to make things that serve the home and last multiple lifetimes. But our main driver is to make things that are well loved. Most of us makers at Pastos & Co are musicians. In fact most of us are guitarists. Our guitars show the scars of our playing. Dents and scratches on the guitar body, marks around the jack input from where a dark stage means you have to feel around rather than see. Lighter spots on the fretboard from the repetition of chord progressions.

Anyway, you probably get our passion now. Allow daily life to mark and add memories to your furniture. THIS is why we made our Trapezi all wood table
